How to automate a report that takes hours every week

Turn a report you compile by hand into an Agent in ORCA Opti that drafts it on a schedule and waits for your approval. Here is how.

In one sentence: If a weekly or monthly report eats hours of copying and pasting from different places, build an Agent in ORCA Opti that compiles the draft on a schedule and hands it to you to approve.

An Agent is a task runner: it does a specific job on a manual or scheduled trigger, using the knowledge and tools you give it. A recurring report that pulls from several sources is exactly the kind of job an Agent is built for.

How to do it

  1. Describe the output. Write down what the finished report should contain, its sections, and who reads it. This becomes the Agent's brief.
  2. Point it at the data. Identify where the numbers and facts live (the folders, documents or connected tools) so the Agent can pull from them.
  3. Create the Agent. Give it the brief, attach the knowledge and tools, and set a schedule (for example, every Monday at 7am).
  4. Keep a human in the loop. Leave approval on, so the Agent produces a draft and waits. Nothing is sent or published until you approve it.
  5. Review and refine. Check the first few runs, tighten the instructions, and let it run.

Why the draft-and-approve step matters

For a regulated team, the value is not just speed, it is that the work leaves an audit trail and never goes out unchecked. The Agent drafts; a person approves. You get the hours back without giving up control.
